Bert Roofing earned a North Texas Roofing Contractors Association Golden Hammer Award for an Outstanding Residential Project involving the removal of a cement fibered tile roof and the installation of a SteelRock Pacific Shake system. The replacement roof carried a UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistant rating and was approximately one-tenth the weight of the original tile.

What Is the Wind Rating?
Typical wind rating for stone-coated metal roofing is 120 MPH. Some name-brand systems are rated as high as 200 MPH. For Dallas weather, that means the roof will hold through severe thunderstorms, tropical storm remnants, and the occasional tornado-adjacent wind event.
Is It Noisy in the Rain?
This is the most common question we get. Stone-coated metal is no louder than any other roofing material when properly installed over a sheathed and insulated attic. The stone coating itself dampens sound, and the layers below (underlayment, decking, insulation) absorb the rest. Most homeowners describe the sound as quieter than their old shingle roof.
