Back on Rosser Square for Another Class 4 Roof

Bert Roofing returned to Rosser Square in Dallas after more than 20 years to install a new GAF Class 4 impact-resistant roof for a longtime customer.

We recently completed a roof replacement on Rosser Square, a residential neighborhood just south of LBJ Freeway and west of Midway Road in North Dallas.

The homeowner, Claire, wasn’t a new customer. She remembered Bert Roofing from the roof we installed on her home more than two decades ago and called us again when it was time for another replacement.

I looked back through our old customer records and found something interesting. The earlier roof, installed in the early 2000s, was also a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle roof.

Class 4 Then, Class 4 Now

For the October 2026 replacement, we installed GAF Timberline ArmorShield II shingles in Weathered Wood. Like the previous roof, the new shingles carry a Class 4 impact-resistance rating.New GAF Timberline ArmorShield II Class 4 roof in Weathered Wood with roof vents on a Rosser Square home in North Dallas.

Class 4 shingles are designed to withstand greater impact than conventional asphalt shingles. They’re not hailproof, but they provide an additional measure of protection in North Texas, where severe thunderstorms are a recurring concern.

We also used GAF’s matching Class 4 Seal-A-Ridge AS ridge shingles rather than standard ridge cap. The installation included new flashing, plumbing pipe jacks, protective underlayment at vulnerable areas, and replacement roof vents.

The finished roof looks right at home among the established brick houses and mature trees along Rosser Square. Weathered Wood is a good fit for this type of traditional Dallas home.

A Customer Who Remembered Us

There wasn’t anything especially unusual about the installation itself. What made this job memorable was the customer relationship.

Claire remembered who installed her previous roof more than twenty years ago. When the house needed roofing work again, she returned to Bert Roofing.

She also took the time to leave us a five-star Google review after the project.

We’ve been roofing homes throughout Dallas since 1988. It’s particularly satisfying when a customer from the early years remembers us and chooses to use us again.

This time, Claire’s home has a new GAF Class 4 roof, and we appreciate the opportunity to have worked for her twice.
