Roof Replacement Near US-67 in Duncanville, TX

We completed this roof replacement in Duncanville near US-67 and the I-20 corridor in the fall of 2025. This was not an insurance job. It came through a referral from a family member we had previously worked with in Richardson. Before After pic Duncanville roof replacement

That is a fairly common pattern for us outside of East Dallas. We are not heavily marketed in Duncanville, but we do take on select projects when there is a connection or proximity to our existing work.

Project Overview

This was a full roof replacement on a single-story home with an additional detached structure.

  • Approximately 46–47 squares total
  • Laminated architectural shingles
  • Weathered Wood color
  • Class 3 impact-resistant system
  • Detached shed included in scope

We installed a complete system, not just shingles. That included synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys, new drip edge, updated ventilation, and proper flashing details.

What We Noticed

Nothing unusual structurally, but a couple of details worth pointing out.

The property had an enhanced ridge detail that was done correctly. That is something we pay attention to. Too often ridge caps are cut from 3-tab shingles, which is not how these systems are designed to be installed.

Gutters were not part of this scope, and there was some typical wear there, but nothing that impacted the roof system itself.

Overall, this was a straightforward replacement done the right way.

Installation Approach

Our focus is always on proper installation, not shortcuts.

On this project, that meant:

  • Full tear-off and deck inspection
  • Synthetic felt instead of traditional felt
  • Ice and water shield in valleys
  • 2×2 drip edge (not the smaller 1.5×1.5 commonly used)
  • Proper starter shingles and ridge system
  • Flashing replaced where needed

These are small details individually, but collectively they determine how the roof performs long term.

Location Context

This home sits in Duncanville near US-67, within reasonable proximity to Dallas. That is typically how we end up in this area. We are not trying to be everywhere. We are looking for projects where we can do the work correctly and stay involved if needed.

After the Recent Hailstorm

Update – April 26, 2026

There has been recent hail activity in the Duncanville area, including along the US-67 and I-20 corridor.

Based on the storm path, this roof will need to be checked again.

Hail damage in North Texas is not always obvious and is often inconsistent from one street to the next. Even a newer roof can be affected depending on hail size and exposure.

If you are in the Duncanville area and have concerns after the storm, it is worth taking a closer look.

Final Thought

This project is a good example of how we typically work outside of our core East Dallas / Lakewood / Park Cities/ Preston Hollow neighborhoods. It starts with a referral or proximity, and then it comes down to doing the job correctly.

If you are near Duncanville and need a roof evaluation, we can take a look and give you a straightforward answer.
